Abstract

Space colonization has persistentlyremainedan interest in humans, and roughly semi centenniallater man's initial expedition into space, now we are considering both short and long-term stays in space. Investors and Scientists trust that Moon and Mars can be suitable in regards of human settlements. However, these accomplishments necessitate natural resources for construction, and it is unfeasible todispatch significantamounts ofresources from earth due to technical and economic constraints. In situ resource utilization (ISRU) turns out to bea requirement for long-term expeditions on the surfaces of other planets. Launch, shelters and landing sites, factories, and routes will be constructed with these resources. Furthermore, the circumstances on Moon and Mars cannot be compared to that on Earth. Hence, research to employ novel materials and methods or transform conventional construction strategies to acclimate to these severe circumstances is much required. In this work, bibliometric analysis is performed on the available state-of-the-art literature to determine the trend of the work carried till date. The analysis has yielded results in the positive direction of growth in recent years across the globe and infers that there is a wider scope for further work to be carried out.
