Abstract
- The article discusses the concerns surrounding the discharge of Fukushima nuclear-contaminated water into the sea. The wastewater originated from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, which experienced a meltdown in 2011. The wastewater contains radioactive isotopes, including tritium, which can have potential harmful impacts on marine life. The long-term effects of these radioactive substances on the marine food web and the evolution of marine organisms are still largely unknown. The article suggests continuous monitoring of the wastewater, scientific supervision of radiation monitoring, and long-term assessment of ecological changes to ensure the stability of marine ecosystems.
