Abstract
- Polylactic acid (PLA) is a new type of biodegradable material, the degradation product is pollution-free, and meets the requirements of sustainable development. PLA can be used as a substitute for plastics due to its excellent biocompatibility and heat-resistant properties, and is widely used in production and life. This paper reviews three different PLA synthesis pathways and compares their advantages and disadvantages, describes the current modification of PLA focusing on mechanical properties and flame retardant properties, summarizes the methods of domestic and foreign scholars of PLA modification, summarizes the application pathways of modified PLA in food packaging, textiles, medical supplies and greenhouse membranes, and summarizes the development trend of PLA in the future with a view to provide a better solution for the future development of PLA technology and PLA to promote carbon peaks, heat resistance, and other properties. The future development trend of PLA is summarized in order to provide a reference for the future development of PLA technology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
