Abstract
- The article discusses the Royal de Luxe performing arts company based in Nantes, France, known for their giant marionette street performances. The marionettes, referred to as "Giants," are made from wood and metal and can reach heights of 40 to 50 feet. The puppeteers and engineers, called Lilliputians, use hydraulics, mechanisms, ropes, and pulleys to bring the puppets to life. The Giants have performed all over the world, each performance telling a story related to the history of the city they are visiting.
