Abstract
- The Florida Bar News reports that Chief Justice Carlos Muñiz has formed a new Workgroup on Vexatious Litigants to review and recommend updates to the Florida Vexatious Litigant Law. The previous workgroup found that the law was too limited and suggested expanding it to address a broader population of vexatious litigants. The new workgroup will also examine the public disclosure of improper matters stricken from noncriminal court filings that could defame and harm individuals. In a separate development, the Florida Supreme Court has established a Workgroup on Uncontested Probate Proceedings to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the state's processes and procedures for uncontested probate cases. The workgroup will review practices and laws in other states and make recommendations to enhance the resolution of uncontested probate proceedings in Florida. [Extracted from the article]
