Abstract

With the prohibition of antibiotics in feed, natural plant components as feed additives instead of antibiotics have gradually attracted wide attention and research. Resveratrol, as a natural polyphenol compound with various biological activities, which mainly exists in grapes, Polygonum cuspidatum and other plants, and has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anticancer properties. Adding resveratrol to feed can improve the intestinal health of pigs, promote the balance and growth of intestinal microorganisms, and enhance the immunity and disease resistance of pigs. In addition, resveratrol can also improve mitochondrial function and antioxidant capacity of pigs, improve energy metabolism and utilization efficiency of pigs, and improve the growth performance and reproductive performance of pigs. This paper summarizes the application status of resveratrol in pig production, and discusses its potential mechanism, so as to better understand its application effect and potential in pig production and provide reference for future research.
