Abstract

This article discusses a case of caecum cancer in a 69-year-old woman who had previously undergone an ileal neoappendectomy for severe chronic constipation and fecal incontinence. The patient presented with an inability to self-catheterize and further examination revealed a partially obstructing tumor in the caecum. The patient underwent right colectomy with terminal ileostomy and distal mucous fistula, and the final histopathology report confirmed locally advanced cancer. The article highlights the importance of establishing a screening program for patients who have undergone surgery for chronic constipation, as they may be at an increased risk of cancer.
