Abstract

Researchers from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom have conducted a study on the viscoelasticity of high concentration monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). The study found that mAb solutions have significant viscoelastic properties above concentrations of 40 mg/ml, and that gelation of the mAbs can be observed by lowering the pH of the buffer. The research suggests that understanding the viscoelastic properties of mAbs is important for their production, formulation, and drug delivery. The study was supported by FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies. [Extracted from the article]
