Abstract

Researchers at NYU Tandon School of Engineering have developed a new technology that could allow stroke patients to undergo rehabilitation exercises at home. The technology involves using a smartphone strapped to the forearm and a low-cost gaming controller called the Novint Falcon to track wrist movements. By combining data from the smartphone's motion sensors with the controller's measurements through machine learning, the researchers were able to predict wrist angles with over 90% accuracy. This technology has the potential to increase access to post-stroke care and improve the quality of life for stroke patients. [Extracted from the article]
