Abstract

Researchers at Government College University Faisalabad in Pakistan have synthesized a library of biphenyl-4-carboxamide derivatives and tested them for their anticancer, antimicrobial, and enzyme inhibition activities. The compound 4h showed the most activity against human liver cancer cells, while compound 4c demonstrated potent inhibitory activity against acetylcholinesterase and urease enzymes. The synthesized compounds also exhibited antibacterial and antifungal activities. Molecular docking studies revealed that the compounds had good binding capability with the target enzymes. The researchers concluded that these compounds have potential as pharmaceutical agents. [Extracted from the article]
