Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Kansai Gaidai University in Japan explores how Japanese men understand and express their experiences with benign prostate enlargement and prostate cancer. The study used in-depth interviews to analyze the participants' perspectives on the body, gender, and sexuality in relation to these conditions. The findings suggest that Japanese men may struggle with somatic knowledge, experience emasculation, and face challenges related to sexuality and sexual reputation. The study provides insights into the cultural and social factors that influence the perception and management of prostate-related conditions in contemporary Japan. [Extracted from the article]
