Abstract

Researchers at Fudan University in Shanghai, China have conducted a study on pancreatic cancer and its resistance to chemotherapy. They found that reprogrammed lipid metabolism contributes to chemoresistance in pancreatic cancer. The study focused on the role of CPT1B, a protein that maintains redox homeostasis and inhibits ferroptosis, in inducing gemcitabine resistance. The researchers concluded that CPT1B may be a promising target for treating patients with gemcitabine-resistant pancreatic cancer. This research has been peer-reviewed and published in the journal Surgery. [Extracted from the article]
