Abstract
- Researchers at Western Michigan University have developed an automated assessment system for laparoscopic surgery training and testing. The system uses deep learning algorithms for object detection and tracking, as well as computer vision algorithms for performance assessment. The system is based on quantitative measurements and expert knowledge using fuzzy logic. The research found that the system's precision compares favorably with other published work, and further improvements can be made with more data. This research has been peer-reviewed and more information can be obtained from the authors. [Extracted from the article]
