Tanner Awards for the most‐cited articles of 2021.

The Journal of Food Science (JFS) has announced the winners of the 2024 Tanner Awards for the most-cited articles of 2021. The overall winner is a paper on the compositional and functional characteristics of goat milk as a base for infant formula. Another paper on microplastics contamination in food and beverages received an honorable mention. Other topics covered by the winning papers include food microbiology and safety, food engineering and materials science, integrated food science, health, nutrition, and food, sensory and food quality, new horizons in food research, food chemistry, and toxicology and chemical food safety. The Tanner Award for the Journal of Food Science Education (JFSE) was also given to a paper on flipped laboratory classes in undergraduate food science and technology.
