Abstract

This document is an editorial published in the journal Frontiers in Veterinary Science. It discusses the use of natural products and pseudo-natural products in combating disease-causing microorganisms in veterinary medicine. The livestock and poultry industry faces challenges from viral, bacterial, parasitic, and fungal infections, as well as synthetic antibiotics and drugs in animal feed. The editorial highlights the potential effectiveness of nanoparticles, plant-based products, essential oils, botanical substances, phytochemicals, and probiotics in preventing and treating infectious diseases in animals. The authors hope that the research presented in this topic will contribute to the development of new strategies for managing infectious diseases in livestock and poultry.
