Abstract
- Herein, we present a Cu<superscript>I</superscript>-dimer, [Cu<superscript>I</superscript>{Ph<subscript>2</subscript>PC<subscript>6</subscript>H<subscript>4</subscript>C(O)NC<subscript>6</subscript>H<subscript>4</subscript>PPh<subscript>2</subscript>-o}]<subscript>2</subscript>, which catalyzed direct C(sp<superscript>3</superscript>)–H homocoupling of benzyl and cycloalkane derivatives with excellent yields and regio-selectivity. The method is very simple and tolerates various functionalities. Synergistic metal–ligand cooperativity was observed in Cu–N bond cleavage and protonation of nitrogen, and facilitates a bifunctional pathway, minimising the free energy corrugation for catalytic intermediates.
