Abstract
- US residential solar installations in the first quarter of this year reached their lowest level in two years due to high interest rates and policy changes in California, the largest rooftop solar market. Installers added 1.28 gigawatts of panels, a 25% decrease from the previous year. However, utility-scale installations and total US installations of all types of solar fared better, with the former reaching a record high of 9.8 gigawatts in the quarter. Additionally, annual US panel production capacity increased by 71% from the previous quarter, driven by incentives in President Joe Biden's climate legislation. [Extracted from the article]
