Abstract

This special issue of the International Journal of Architectural Computing presents selected papers from the 40th Education and research in Computer Aided Architectural Design in Europe (eCAADe) Conference, which explored the theme "Co-creating the Future." The focus of this issue is on approaches, roles, agents, and strategies for inclusion and co-creation using technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, smart buildings, autonomous devices, robots, and software. The papers in this issue cover topics such as enhancing human-building interaction, the benefits and challenges of AI image generators in architectural ideation, the use of chatbots in fostering community participation, collective cartography strategies for analyzing urban spaces, and community-driven design processes. These studies offer valuable insights into the potential of technology in creating more responsive, inclusive, and engaging built environments. [Extracted from the article]
