Abstract

A recent study conducted at Federal University examined the biocompatibility of a new root canal filling sealer (RCFS) made from tristrontium aluminate and dodecacalcium hepta-aluminate. The study used Wistar rats and found that the experimental RCFS induced a low inflammatory reaction and promoted rapid tissue repair when in close contact with periapical tissue. The researchers observed a decrease in inflammatory infiltrate over time and an increase in collagen fibers. This research suggests that the new cement based on calcium and strontium aluminates could be a viable option for dental procedures. [Extracted from the article]
