Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers from the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk focused on the aminocarbonylation of ethyl 2-substituted 5-iodobenzoate to produce various 5-carboxamide and 5-glyoxylamide derivatives of 2-(N-substituted) ethylbenzoates. The researchers found that the formation of these derivatives was influenced by reaction conditions. The synthesized compounds were tested for cytotoxicity and showed potential as anticancer agents, particularly the 5-glyoxylamido derivatives. In silico molecular modeling studies confirmed that these compounds are inhibitors of cyclin-dependent kinase 6 and 9. The research was supported by the Russian Science Foundation.
