Abstract
- A new study conducted by the UK Clinical Eye Research Strategy (CERS) has identified the prevention of conditions such as cataracts and glaucoma, as well as better integration of primary and secondary care, as priorities for UK eye care research over the next five years. The study, published in the journal Eye, surveyed healthcare professionals, patients, carers, researchers, and charity support workers to map out the research priorities for ophthalmology in the UK. The study highlights the need for focused research in ophthalmology, which faces substantial challenges and is currently underfunded despite the burden of eye diseases. [Extracted from the article]
