Abstract

Researchers at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf in Germany have conducted a study on pediatric medulloblastoma, a type of brain tumor. The study aimed to understand the impact of persistent residual lesions after initial treatment. The researchers analyzed data from 84 pediatric patients and found that the overall response to first-line therapy was minor or partial for most patients. They also found that the presence and extent of residual lesions can predict the risk of disease progression. The study suggests that additional treatments may not be beneficial for patients with solitary persistent medulloblastoma lesions. [Extracted from the article]
