Abstract
- A new report from the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University discusses the potential use of the CA-125 elimination rate constant K (KELIM) as a predictor of tumor chemosensitivity in ovarian cancer patients undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) before interval surgery. The study, conducted in China, analyzed data from 133 patients with high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) and found that a higher KELIM score was associated with a higher likelihood of complete surgery and better progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). The researchers concluded that KELIM could be an important factor in decision-making regarding interval debulking surgery (IDS) attempts and predicting patient survival. [Extracted from the article]
