Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Tartu in Estonia explored the potential of using agricultural by-products for livestock feed. The study focused on three specific by-products: hempseed hull, sea buckthorn pomace and leaves. The researchers used a method called derivatization-targeted analysis to analyze the free amino compounds in these samples. They found that sea buckthorn leaves had a similar amino compound profile to oat bran, suggesting that it could be a suitable feed supplement. This research provides valuable insights into the potential reuse of agricultural by-products in livestock feed. [Extracted from the article]
