Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Sichuan Agricultural University in China has provided new insights into the utilization and distribution of Illicium verum Hook. f., a globally significant spice commonly known as star anise. The study analyzed 324 papers published in the Web of Science Core Collection and 353 core documents from China's major databases to identify research hotspots and trends. The findings indicate that the medical applications of I. verum, particularly its antioxidant bioactivity, are a prevailing trend in both Chinese and international research. This research provides valuable information for researchers and decision-makers in the food and spice industries. [Extracted from the article]
