Abstract
- A scoping review conducted by researchers at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens explores the issue of resistance to temozolomide, a chemotherapy drug used in the treatment of glioblastoma (GB), the most common and aggressive primary brain tumor in adults. The study highlights various factors that contribute to the efficacy of temozolomide, including DNA repair systems, signaling pathways, autophagy, epigenetic modifications, microRNAs, and extracellular vesicle production. The review aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the molecular mechanisms involved in temozolomide resistance and suggests potential strategies to overcome this resistance.
