Abstract

Women's health is a vast and complex field, encompassing diverse experiences and challenges throughout the pregnancy lifecycle. Despite advanced medical facilities in the United States, pregnancy-related mortality rates remain higher than in other countries, with alarming disparities affecting minority populations. This article explores the multifaceted landscape of infertility, focusing on women in heterosexual partnerships pursuing in vitro fertilization (IVF). In exploring the biological, psychological, and social dimensions of women's health in the context of IVF, this article employs the biopsychosocial model as a systemic framework to comprehend the comprehensive nature of the IVF process. It delves into the challenges faced by individuals and couples, emphasizing the vital role of mental health services in promoting overall wellbeing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
