Abstract
- India played a significant role in the adoption of amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR 2005) at the 77th World Health Assembly (WHA). The amendments were formulated based on proposals from member nations following the Covid-19 pandemic. India's proposal for a single drafting group was unanimously approved by all member states, resulting in the adoption of the amendments on June 1. These amendments aim to enhance countries' preparedness and response capabilities to public health emergencies and focus on equitable access to health products and financial resources for developing countries.
