Abstract

Louisiana ports, including the Port of New Orleans, Plaquemines Port, and St. Bernard Port, are investing in infrastructure to handle growing cargo volumes. The Port of South Louisiana is already one of the busiest ports in the country and is experiencing an increase in tonnage. These developments are expected to enhance Louisiana's import and export capabilities and contribute to the state's economy. Port Everglades is a major hub for shipping various types of cargo and has seen record-breaking container movements. Other ports in Louisiana, such as New Orleans, Morgan City, Lake Charles, and Caddo-Bossier, are also expanding their facilities to accommodate higher cargo volumes and are collaborating with industry partners to support offshore wind operations and carbon capture projects.
