Abstract

A rare high-denomination note, a 1934 $5,000 Federal Reserve note from Chicago, was sold for $144,000 at a Stack's Bowers Galleries auction. The note features a portrait of James Madison and has a lime-green Treasury seal. It is graded PMG 35 Choice Very Fine and has minor restoration that is difficult to detect. The Austrian Mint also released a silver 25-euro coin that highlights the importance of soil and its components, such as time, minerals, climate, and soil organisms. The coin features a plant with roots, a clock, rocks, a rain cloud, and an ammonite shell on the obverse, and a mole, earthworm, snail, and ant on the reverse. The coin has a mintage of 65,000 and comes with a certificate of authenticity. [Extracted from the article]
