Abstract

A recent study conducted at the Federal University Paraiba in Brazil has found that (-)-Fenchone, a naturally occurring compound, has potential therapeutic effects for duodenal ulcers and gastric healing. The study showed that (-)-Fenchone reduced ulcerative injury and prevented lesion formation in animal models. It also exhibited antioxidant and immunomodulatory properties, which may contribute to its therapeutic effects. The compound was found to have low toxicity and did not cause any adverse effects on the animals' vital organs or biochemical parameters. Further research is needed to explore the potential of (-)-Fenchone as a treatment for human patients. [Extracted from the article]
