Abstract
- A study conducted at the Medical University of Warsaw in Poland aimed to compare the course of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) hepatitis in patients with infectious mononucleosis (IM) who received steroid therapy versus those who did not. The study analyzed changes in liver enzyme activity and differences in abdominal ultrasound results. The results showed that patients treated with steroids had less pronounced laboratory features of hepatitis, particularly at the beginning of the disease. This research provides insights into the potential influence of steroid therapy on the course of EBV hepatitis in children with IM. [Extracted from the article]
