Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the City University of Hong Kong has utilized nanopore sequencing technology to analyze multidrug-resistant bacterial strains. The study successfully assembled the genomes of eight bacterial strains and their 18 plasmids using nanopore sequencing data. The research identified diverse antibiotic resistance patterns and specific resistance genes in the test strains, providing valuable insights into the genetic characteristics of multidrug-resistant bacteria. The findings demonstrate the practicality of nanopore sequencing technology for detecting resistance elements in bacterial pathogens. [Extracted from the article]
