Abstract
- A study conducted by a researcher at the University of Padova in Italy explores the use of hierarchical multinomial processing tree models for meta-analysis of diagnostic accuracy studies. The study investigates the applicability of these models in assessing the accuracy of binary classification tools, taking into account the specific disease prevalences of each study. The proposed model is compared to other existing models through simulation studies and is applied to a real meta-analysis on the accuracy of the confusion assessment method as a delirium screening tool. The research provides valuable insights into the evaluation of diagnostic tools in clinical and psychological investigations. [Extracted from the article]
