Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at Islamic Azad University explores the potential of enhancing the efficacy of letrozole, a drug used in breast cancer treatment, by developing drug delivery systems. The researchers encapsulated letrozole in liposomes and PEGylated liposome nanoparticles and evaluated their cytotoxic effects on breast cancer cells. The results showed that the PEGylated liposome nanoparticles produced more drug cytotoxicity and were more compatible with normal cells compared to liposomes alone. The study suggests that these nanoparticles could be used as an anticancer agent to prevent breast cancer development. [Extracted from the article]
