Abstract
- Samuel Johnson, an actor whose sister battled cancer, faced his fears by spending a week at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney for the show "The Hospital: In The Deep End." He visited the mental health, drugs and alcohol, and oncology departments, which were deeply personal for him. Through this experience, he gained a better understanding of the research and fundraising efforts in the oncology department. Johnson also reflected on his own hospital experience after being hit by a car in 2021 and praised the staff for their care and positive attitude. He is currently leading an initiative called Sam's 1000, which aims to expand precision medicine for cancer patients in rural and regional areas. [Extracted from the article]
