Abstract

This article presents a study that investigated the serum levels of neurotensin, pannexin-1, and sestrin-2 in individuals with chronic insomnia disorder (CID) and their relationship with sleep quality and cognitive function. The study found that CID patients had elevated levels of neurotensin and pannexin-1, and decreased levels of sestrin-2 compared to healthy individuals. These biomarkers were associated with objective measures of sleep quality and cognitive function. The findings suggest that neuronal dysfunction may contribute to the impaired sleep quality and cognitive dysfunction observed in CID patients. [Extracted from the article]
