Abstract
- This article discusses the reliability and learning effect of sit-to-stand tests in assessing lower limb strength in adults and older adults. The study found that the 1-minute sit-to-stand test (1MSTS) and the 5 times sit-to-stand test (5TSTS) showed excellent within-day test-retest reliability in both age groups. However, there was a learning effect observed in adults, but not in older adults. The findings suggest that at least three tests are needed for adults to achieve their true performance, while a single test may be sufficient for older adults. Further research is needed to explore the influence of other variables on the reliability and learning effect of these tests. [Extracted from the article]
