Abstract

This article discusses the negative impacts of roads on amphibians and reptiles, known as herpetofauna, and the effectiveness of mitigation structures in reducing these impacts. Roads can act as barriers to movement and increase mortality rates for these species. The article presents research on road mortality, effects of roads on movement behavior, and the design and maintenance of barriers and passages. It emphasizes the need for long-term monitoring and research to inform conservation efforts and maintain viable populations of herpetofauna. [Extracted from the article]
