Abstract

This article, published in Seminars in Musculoskeletal Radiology, explores the relationship between ischiofemoral impingement, femoral torsion, and hip dysplasia. The study involved 101 hips of symptomatic patients with hip dysplasia undergoing periacetabular osteotomy. The researchers found that ischiofemoral edema and signs of ischiofemoral impingement were present in over a third of patients with hip dysplasia and increased femoral torsion. The findings highlight the importance of preoperative hip MRI in detecting these conditions in patients with hip pain and hip dysplasia. [Extracted from the article]
