Abstract

This article discusses three cases of patients who were diagnosed with both AApoAIV amyloidosis and ATTR amyloidosis. AApoAIV amyloidosis is a rare form of systemic amyloidosis that often affects the heart, kidney, and gastrointestinal tract. ATTR amyloidosis, on the other hand, is a common form of amyloidosis that primarily affects the heart. The article emphasizes the importance of accurately diagnosing the specific type of amyloidosis, as treatment options vary depending on the type. The authors recommend using mass spectrometry-based proteomics to determine the amyloid type. [Extracted from the article]
