Abstract
- Mitochondrial ferritin (FtMt) is a kind of ferritin without intron gene coding, which can affect mitochondrial iron content, mitochondrial function, production of reactive oxygen species and cell GSH content by regulating cellular oxidative stress and cytoplasmic iron balance. More and more evidence shows that FtMt is involved in the occurrence and development of neurode-generative diseases, ischemic stroke, traumatic brain injury, restless leg syndrome and glioma. This paper summarizes the different roles of FtMt in a variety of neurological diseases, so as to provide reference for exploring the mechanism of a variety of neurological diseases.
