Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences examined the clinical significance of hematological parameters in patients with palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP), a chronic inflammatory disease. The study found that certain hematological parameters, such as monocyte count, plateletcrit (PCT), and pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV), were significantly higher in PPP patients compared to healthy controls. These parameters were also found to be correlated with disease severity and treatment response. The researchers concluded that PCT and PIV could serve as simple and inexpensive biomarkers for systemic inflammation in PPP patients. [Extracted from the article]
