Abstract

Ukraine's anti-graft authority has accused a former deputy head of Volodymyr Zelenskiy's office of illicit enrichment. The official, Andriy Smyrnov, allegedly acquired assets worth more than 10 times his income and savings and hid them under his brother's name. Smyrnov, who worked for Zelenskiy's Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak, was dismissed in March without a reason being given. This comes as pressure mounts on President Zelenskiy to demonstrate progress in the fight against corruption. [Extracted from the article]
