Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the Aravind Eye Care System in Pondicherry, India, has provided new insights into ophthalmology. The study focused on a 24-year-old female who experienced a snake bite on her left ankle, followed by localized pain and blurred vision in her right eye. The researchers found that the snake bite resulted in a transient central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) with the presence of a spared cilioretinal artery. This case is considered rare, as ophthalmic manifestations following a snake bite are uncommon. For more information, the full research article can be accessed for free online.
