Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China has developed a sustainable and affordable diagnostic method for universal metabolic cancer diagnosis. The method combines dried serum spots and nanoparticle-enhanced laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry, allowing for the diagnosis of multiple cancers within minutes. The researchers found that implementing this tool in less-developed regions could significantly reduce the proportion of undiagnosed cases of colorectal, gastric, and pancreatic cancer. This study provides valuable insights into delivering more sustainable and accessible metabolic cancer diagnosis with maximum health benefits. [Extracted from the article]
