Abstract
- In the interview, Australian-based writer Wei Min began by discussing the origins of her creation and elaborated on the challenging process of writing Farewell to Congtai. Despite her multiple identities, she insists on writing purely for the sake of writing. Wei Min regards Han Opera as the most distinctive cultural hallmark of Wuhan, and on this basis, she completed the construction of the cultural epic of "Opera Hub". Her portrayal of Wuhan's urban culture is rooted in personal experience, and her profound material foundation and spiritual preparation lend a unique "Han flavor" to her novels. She described her fateful encounter with Han Opera as a confluence of "favorable timing, advantageous geographical conditions, and harmonious human relations, " and hopes to arouse more readers' interest and attention through her portrayal of Han Opera performances. The expression "women are like flowers, " derived from the theatrical theory of "graceful posture and blooming flowers, " allows us to sense the abundant and vibrant female strength.
