Abstract: Forests play a crucial role in fighting climate change by acting as carbon vacuum cleaners, absorbing and storing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Forest edges, which are areas where forests meet grasslands or roads, can store more carbon than the forest interior due to increased sunlight and warmth. Forest edges are becoming more prevalent due to forest fragmentation caused by human activities.
