Abstract

This article explores the illegal trade of green turtles, examining it from the perspectives of commercial law and state administrative law. The authors argue that this trade disrupts the natural life cycle of turtles and is part of a vast network. Green turtles are protected by regulations due to their crucial role in maintaining the survival of seagrass and seaweed. The article emphasizes the decline in turtle populations and the need for protective measures. It analyzes the illegal turtle trade activities based on trade law and state administrative law, discussing the elements of a sale and purchase agreement, legal requirements, and the responsibilities of both buyers and sellers. The article also highlights the legal conditions of an agreement according to the Civil Code and the protection of sea turtles under Indonesian laws and regulations. It calls for government supervision to prevent illegal trade and safeguard the life cycle and environmental ecosystem of sea turtles. [Extracted from the article]
