Abstract
- Pakistan's wind energy sector has been facing challenges due to curtailments, which has raised concerns about the viability and growth of wind energy projects. The primary cause of curtailments is the mismatch between power production capacity and actual consumption patterns in Pakistan. Factors such as the lack of industrial and commercial contributions, focus on new power projects, and net metering dynamics contribute to these challenges. To address this issue, proposed solutions include policy reforms, financial support, grid modernization, and exploring hybrid renewable energy models. By implementing these initiatives, Pakistan can unlock the full potential of its renewable energy sector and contribute to global climate goals. [Extracted from the article]
